Adult Protective Services investigates allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of persons 60+ years old and adults with disabilities ages 18+. When incidents of abuse are verified, APS caseworkers assist the victim (and family, as appropriate) with services to keep the victim safe. Abuse can be physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, confinement, willful deprivation, passive neglect, or financial exploitation. The team of care coordinators at Crosspoint Human Services work collaboratively with community providers to develop integrated assessments and treatment plans that make sure the needs of persons served are met.  This includes integrating behavioral health treatment, physical health, employment, housing, budgeting, social interaction, and leisure time planning.    For individuals that Crosspoint acts as Representative Payee for, the care coordinators work with the person served to develop budgets that ensure not only bills are being paid but also that individuals are building a savings account.

CRISIS HOTLINE (217) 442-3200 Crosspoint has a team of trained Crisis Intervention Counselors that are available 24/7, 365 days a year.  They are able to provide an assessment of immediate need, address that need, and provide referral and linkage to an appropriate level of care.  As a mobile team, they respond locally to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Carle Regional Hospital in Hoopeston, the Public Safety Building, community providers, and, when safe and appropriate to do so, other community locations.

ECICAA provides a myriad of services through the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Weatherization, SNAP Barrier Removal Program and Educaitonal Servies through a District 118 Educational collaboratives that brings an Alternative and Afterschool Program to the Danville, Illinois area. All of our services are geared to help families overcome poverty and achieve economic self-sufficiency. Specific services, such as our CSBG Program that is offered through ECICAA are determined annually. Based on a community needs assessment, we have provided you with a summary of what the Agency currently provides to income eligible individuals and families. All services are available while funds lasts. All services are designed to address barriers in the areas of Equitable and Affordable Housing, Education, Employment-Readiness, and Economic Empowerment. Currently, the Agency offers College Scholarships, Homeless Prevention, Youth Educational and Enrichment Programs, Financial Literacy, Senior Nutrition, Employment-Readiness Assistance, and Comprehensive Intake and Linkages within the community. ECICAA has a specific mandate is to provide a range of services and activities that have measurable results in alleviating the causes of poverty in communities. Our Memory Care Program (MCP) is designed to support Caregivers who have loved ones with issues related to memory loss. We have the STAR-C Program which is a six week series sessions held weekly, focusing on Communication, Problem Solving, and Creating Pleasant Events. Supporting the STAR-C Program is our Memory Café which provides an opportunity for people with similar issues to come together in a safe and supportive environment. Sexual Assault Advocates

Our legal advocates provide support to victims of sexual assault who are currently in legal proceedings because of the assault. The advocates explain the process, attend hearings and communicate with the survivor during the entire court process. Survivors can walk in or call our office at 217-446-1337 to make an appointment. We also accept referrals from other organizations.

Sexual Assault Case Management

Our agency offers Case Management for survivors of sexual assault. The case manager assess the needs of the client and provides resources or makes a referral to another agency who can better serve the client. Some examples would include help or information about transportation, energy assistance resources, listing of medical providers and assistance filling out paperwork. The case manager researches resources in our community and gives the information to the survivor.

Our agency has a 24 hour hotline that can be used 7 days a week. Our volunteers and staff have been trained in crisis intervention. CSBG College Scholarship Assistance

The CSBG Scholarship Program will assist up to 4 low-income students finance higher education with a scholarship up to $2,000 per participant (depending on the need) within one program year. Income eligible students from Ford, Iroquois, and Vermilion Counties are welcomed to apply! Students enrolled in an Illinois college, university or vocational training program may qualify for a CSBG Scholarship. Scholarship funds may be applied toward tuition, uniforms, study-related fees, and books. Scholarship awards are sent directly from ECICAA to the awardee's institution of attendance. CSBG Scholarship applications will be available April 1, 2024. You may email Kea Cunningham, Community Services Manager, at kcunning-ham@comaction.org to request an application, or call (217) 554-9122 to have a scholarship application mailed or emailed directly to you. Each year ECICAA's hosts a Health & Wellness Fairs throughout Ford, Iroquois, and Vermilion Counties. Community members are directed through a line to receive a variety of items from ECICAA that contribute health and wellness to this county's low-income community.
