The Career and Employment Center coordinates and facilitates career planning and employment activities for the benefit of DACC students, faculty, staff, community partners, and current/future employers. The center provides career assessment and counseling, job search activities, and online tools to help people identify programs of study, job search, and prepare resumes and hone interview skills to those seeking employment. CSBG Employment Services will support program participants assistance in: (a) Fee coverage when obtaining a driver's license and identification cards to remove barriers to employment entry. (b) Trade Skill Assistance: Financial assistance in the purchase of: employment and training uniforms, steel toe boots, and tuition assistance in trade school's enrollment. (c) Financial assistance in enrolled in (but not limited to) the Danville Area Community College, Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA) program, Phlebotomy, Truck Driving, Welding, and other Trade Skills Programs. (d) This work program will assist income eligible individuals to successfully be ready for the first day of work!

The revenue generated from the sales of donations in our Goodwill stores help fund these services. Overcoming Employment Barriers Disability, criminal backgrounds, lack of high school diploma can all seem like insurmountable barriers to finding and keeping a good job. Goodwill can help break down those barriers. Our professional Career Coaches will work one-on-one with you to lay out a program that matches your interests and skills with what employers are looking for. You put in the effort and we will champion your cause and support your efforts to get over the past and get moving forward again. Retraining & Retention Advances in technology impact all employment categories and can create hardship especially for older workers. At Goodwill Career Centers you can improve your tech skills and computer literacy, learn methods for retraining your current job, a move from one career to another.
